Alain PIERRE and Michel TARAN meet in 1976. Alain (Bob) played guitar in various groups in Meaux (town near Paris). Michel (Minou) played drums in other formations. Their paths intersect over the years and it was only in 1980 in the short-lived « Collectif 202 » as their common inspirations (Gong, King Crimson, Eno, Robert Wyatt, etc., etc.) converge to a music « progressive and synthetic ». After several years of participation in other formations, the two cronies find themselves at the beginning of the 90s in a duo very electronic. At that time, Michel plays keyboards and Alain is interested more and more by the synth-guitar. Meanwhile, Michel « works » in a duet with Laurent Delenne, ex. singer and guitarist in the Orion group. This duo, with Laurent initiative called « Memory Tapes Yet ». The sudden death of Laurent the June 26, 1995 ended this collaboration.
Alain and Michel decide to keep, in memory of Laurent, the name « Memory Tapes Yet » for their duet. This new training furbishes some mockups, never produced or marketed. In 2013, under the leadership of Patrick WYREMBSKI and Janusz TOKARZ, Alain and Michel participate to mixdown of the album « Mémoires du temps » of the Orion group, which gives them the idea of this tribute to Laurent Delenne. Jean-Philippe Mamosa, a childhood friend of Michel, ex keyboardist Orion and others groups in Meaux (town near Paris), worked on three tracks on this great project. After 2 years of work, the album is there. This project would not have been possible without the help and support of the PATJAPROG association, and MUSEA label for distribution.
